In April 2017 I was commissioned to take my long-term project The Welcome Rest on-the-road, extending the series to the beautiful forest environment of Grizedale in Cumbria.
These portraits in the forest, whilst knowingly modest, reward scrutiny, offering an articulation of how place and space enriches existence and how the seemingly mundane, yet complex, relationships between dogs and their companions enhance the very day.
Preparation is now well underway for the forthcoming exhibition, taking the images produced in April back to the Forest's Gallery for the summer. Many additional prints have been sent out to the dogs and their companions and to our delight a number of the sitters are planning to return to Grizedale to see the exhibition.
No exhibition previews just yet, so for now a couple that just missed the final cut.
